Wedding Gown Wednesday: "Harlow"

We absolutely adore "Harlow," a new gown that we received from Marisa last week. We love the flowing movement of this dress.

The design features a subtle dip neckline and a softly ruched bodice. The silk organza is draped and ruched around the entire gown. This dress would be the perfect choice for a romantic outdoor wedding. If you think "Harlow" might be your dream gown we would love for you to set up an appointment to try on this beauty.

Wedding Gown Wednesday: "Elyse"

Yesterday on Facebook we said we were excited about this dress. It looks quite simple at first glance, but the fabric is absolutely GORGEOUS. The dress we are featuring is a Tara Keely style # TK2154 that we have re-named "Elyse."

This dress has an almost sundress-like feel, perfect if you are looking to go the more casual route. We love this unique neckline—what you would call a ballerina sweetheart bodice with spaghetti straps. This skirt has just the right amount of fullness with lovely box pleats, a chapel train and pockets!

As we said, the fabric is what we love most about this dress. It's is a really pretty, soft tissue-like brocade. The pattern is unique and gives a truly rich feel to this simple design. You must see this dress in person—the fabric detail alone is definitely worth a trip to the store.

Wedding Gown Wednesday: "Melanie"

This week on Wedding Gown Wednesday we are featuring a lovely Paloma Blanca that we have re-named "Melanie." The bodice is made of lace and beading. The neckline is a sweetheart and the gown has a dropped waist with a lace scalloped edge.

Melanie's skirt has cascading silk organza ruffles, giving this dress a soft, whimsical feel. If you are looking for a unique gown with a soft, airy look this could be your dress! We would love for you to set up an appointment to come try it on.

Bridal Show

Things have been so busy around the store that we are just now able to blog about the Richmond Bridal Show in August and share some photos from our fashion shows. We hosted three mini shows throughout the event, which are great because you can stand closer to the gowns and see all the fantastic detail.

We then put on our big show as a finalé to the event, which went smoothly and the models looked gorgeous as always. Also at the show we sported our new Bella Rosa Bridal tee shirts for the first time, which are super cute! We had such a blast at the Richmond Bridal Show and can't wait until January for our next one!

Now that he put a ring on it…which wedding band?

We took a little poll on how people chose or are choosing their wedding bands via Facebook and at our brides' fittings. For some, there is more than choosing just because you like the way the band looks with your engagement ring. We love all the answers we have gotten from our brides. For some brides it is solely a financial decision—the bride and groom chose what they can afford. Many brides chose a wedding band that compliments their engagement ring. We are finding that most brides are choosing a band with some sparkle.

Our bride Carrie (who is now a married lady) said,"Mine matches the band of my engagement ring...who knew I was such a sparkle hawk?? ;)"

Melissa, another one of our brides said,"I'm with Carrie... We picked my band based on matching my engagement ring and his based and what we could afford after!!! LOL."

We have another bride who told us she and her future husband paid respects to their parents by picking bands similar to theirs. Kelsey said,"We picked ours based on similar shapes that our parents had. Then inside we engraved a special phrase that means a lot to us and makes no sense to anyone else."

Regardless of whether your engagement ring is a vintage family heirloom or a brand new modern setting, picking a wedding band that you love is very important. After all it is the band that symbolizes your commitment for life.

Thanks to Casey Templeton for providing these photos. A couple of the photos are actually our brides' rings!

Wedding Gown Wednesday: "Elaine"

Last week we received this beautiful gown from Marisa that we have renamed "Elaine." The neckline is Marisa's signature unique, slightly dipped design. The bodice features a beautiful alençon lace appliqué pattern that flows down onto the skirt.

The silhouette of this gown is a fitted trumpet, which is a great look for those who want to show off their shape but aren't looking for something as form-fitting as a mermaid. We love the romantic silk organza skirt and how it drapes in and cascades on the right side.

If romantic with a touch of sexy is the look you are going for, this may be your dream dress. We would love for you to make an appointment to come see "Elaine."
